David Lukáš was born January 9th, 1981 in Vysoké Mýto. Already in early childhood he manifested love for music. His mother, who is a singer, singing pedagogue and director of Basic Music School in Vysoké Mýto, supported his predilection for music very much. Already before he started to attend basic school he had begun to take violin lessons. Later on his musical talent started to manifest itself also in first composer attempts. The first ones were pieces for violin and later also for string orchestra. His first composition played in public was Romance for bows from 1996.

His talent and love for music was growing, so at age 17 he decided to study conducting at a conservatory. He was admitted to the conservatory in Pardubice that specialized on choir conducting. But David was more interested in orchestral music, that´s why after one year and a half he transfered from Pardubice to Prague conservatory. There he studied at professors Hynek Farkač, Miroslav Košler and Miriam Němcová. He finished his studies in 2005. Simultaneously with conducting studies he took private lessons in composing.

The first essentials of music theory he learned already at Basic Music School in Vysoké Mýto from PaedDr.Zdeněk Berger. In Prague he consulted his compositions with Otomar Kvěch and Radek Rejšek. Recently he has been consulting his composing technics with Sylvia Bodorová. David Lukáš also made efforts to improve his technics by studying a huge amount of partitions of all eras.

He is one of the composers that stick to tonal and melodical music. He describes himself as neoclassicist and neoromantist. His compositions are melodical, yet with modern 21st century elements. His facture contains chamber, vocal as well as orchestral pieces. He endeared very much the harp, for which he writes solo pieces and to which he also dedicates parts in his chamber and orchestral compositions.

Among his big musical ideals is Antonín Dvořák, who´s music he endears since childhood. Another musical giant, who in fact made David decide for his career of conductor and composer, is Leonard Bernstein. When David was 14 or 15 years old, the Czech television broadcasted a cycle call Vysoké Mýtoed "Concerst for young audience". That was the moment when he realized that music is the one and only destination for him. L. Bernstein became his guru. He worships him as a human being, as an outstanding conductor and composer, who abounds with humility to music.

David´s first success as a composer was with his early writings for string orchestra, which were published by Alliancce publications, Inc., USA. Now he establishes cooperation with certain artists and musical bodies (Kateřina Englichová, Vilém Veverka, Böhm Trio). His facture contains also pieces that can be performed by pupils or ensembles pupils of musical schools.

David's last and extensive work is full-lenght cantata "Czech legends" for large orchestra, mixes choir and solist on texts by Veronika Vlachova, concerto for pinao and orchestra and concert melodrama "Night's dark". He prepares his first scenic work: oprea "Silent light", the libretto prepared Veronika Vlachova in to the suggestion by composer.

David coorporate mainly like conducter with Litomyšl symphony orchestra, Vysoké Mýto chamber orchestra, Symphonetic orchestra of Jaromir Vogel and student's orchestras at music schools in Vysoké Mýto and Prague 10 and on music camp for young people in Horni Jeleni. During his stuides on conservatory in Pardubice he conducted Pardubice children's choir.

David is currently on behalf of
Bohemian Music Agency like conductor and composer. He is a teacher of music theory at music school in Prague.
